The Good News....and the bad

Well the good new is that we got a call from Seattle Childrens Hospital and they have scheduled Jacob for another MRI, a PET Scan, and an appointment with the Epileptologist (yah!). The bad news, it is not until July 19th (eek!). I am generally a patient person (except lately when it comes to a certain 4 year old attitude), but I don't know if I have the patiences to wait 2 more months to see why Jacob is still having seizures. The new medicine he started a week and a half ago does not seem to do much better than any of the other ones, but I don't know how long it is supposed to take. Any way, I just pray I don't go out of my mind waiting. One note is though that the epilepsy nurse was not happy with the amount of time it was going to take to get him in so she is going to see what she can do to get him in sooner. We will keep our fingers crossed that they call us back & say, "Hey we found something sooner"!

It was a wonderfully warm weekend here in Boise though, and so as all first really warm weekends call for: we had a good old water balloon and squirt gun fight (well mostly Rick and Joshua)!

We hope everyone else had a wonderful weekend and a wonderful week!

Finally jumping on the band wagon

Ok, so I finally decided that it was time to start creating a blog for our family! I figured it will be helpful in keeping all of our friends and family up to date with all of the new and ever so exciting things that go on in our daily (or maybe monthly) lives. So I suppose for my first post, I should say that I should have started this when Joshua was born, and not now when Jacob is already 14 months old, but oh well.

Joshua is 4 years old and is a great big brother. He loves his little brother Jacob and it seems that Jacob really loves him. They get along very well and I am certain they will be great buddies when they get older.

As some of you know, Jacob started having seizures called infantile spasms when he was about 5 months old. Those were treated and they seem to have disappeared, but when he hit the 1 year mark, his seizures started again. We have been in the process ever since his first birthday of trying to stop them and to find out more specifically what is causing them, but so far have been unsuccesful. He has had 2 MRI's and the most recent one has brought up more questions than it has answered, so more tests are being run, but no answers as of yet. His Pediatric Neurologist is looking into sending us off to Seattle Childrens Hospital to be seen by their Epilepsy specialists, so we may be making that trip in the near future. He is doing amazing right now. With the exception of the small seizures he still has (but hopefully will be gone soon with a new medicine he is on) you would never know he had any issues at all.

All of us are doing great right now though, and most of us (probably not Rick) are looking forward to the warm weather we have just around the corner. We have been out fishing for Kokanee twice now and have done pretty good at least once.

I had a great Mother's Day and for all of those Mothers and beautiful women I did not get to see yesterday, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY (belated).

Baseball is in "full Swing"

It is baseball season in the Wilkison house and all three boys are playing, so that has kept us pretty busy.  We seem to have eith...
